In the fall and winter, striped bass move into the Delta in huge numbers and, as the water cools, we chase after them with light gear. No trolling or bait dunking here! Nope, our favorite way to catch roving linesiders (which average 4-8 pounds but can sometimes top 40 pounds!) is to throw big topwater plugs but we also employ subsurface lures. We also catch plenty of fish on flies!
