About Your Fishing Trip

J.D. Richey Sportfishing takes great pride in providing the best service in the industry and it is our goal to make your visit with us more than simply a fishing trip – think of it more as a mini vacation and day-long adventure. We don't want you to have to think about anything besides enjoying your trip!

Your Day

Your fishing trip, unless otherwise specified, will begin just before dawn (exact times depend on time of year, weather, tides, etc). Once on the water, we will give a brief seminar on the day’s techniques and then the fishing begins!

Fish cleaning

What You Need to Bring

Fishing license and appropriate stamps (Purchase licenses online HERE)
Lunch and drinks
Rain gear, sun screen and a hat
Ice chest to keep fillets fresh on the way home

Deposit

A 50% deposit is required to hold a date

Cancellation Policy

Crew Cancellation: Weather can be a factor on both Lake Tahoe and Pyramid Lake. If we deem conditions to be unsafe for your trip, you will receive a full refund.

Customer Cancellation: Cancellations must be made at least 7 days prior to the scheduled trip to receive a full refund. For trips cancelled less than 7 days before the trip, we reserve the right to charge your card for the full amount of the charter fee.

Our Fleet

26-foot River Wild

Our 26-foot River Wild cabin boat is an extremely comfortable and stable fishing platform. With plenty of seating for 6 anglers inside the heated cabin and a huge rear deck, she’s a dream to fish from!

Pavati 2-Door Driftboat

Completely state-of-the-art, the our jumbo 18-foot Pavati drifter handles up to 3 guests and has often been called the “Bentley of Driftboats” by our clients. What really sets it apart are the two front doors that allow for easy access in and out, but the comfortable seats, wide, level floors and stability really make it a complete fishing rig.

This is the boat we use to access some of the remotest canyons in California!

Hog Island "Mini Sled"

This is the newest addition to the family... Hog Island’s 16-foot shallow water skiff with a Yamaha jet pump on it. This is the rig we use to get you back into those super-sneaky spots that nobody else can reach!

It’s best suited for 2 guests and is so much fun you may never want to travel in anything else!
